Our day begins with a granola, yoghurt and fruit bowl and cold pressed juice. If we're in the mood, it's a pancake and bacon stack with smoked cinnamon syrup. Poached eggs on toast with a side of cherry tomatoes and pan fried mushrooms are our go-to for business meetings, always with multiple flat whites or teas from TWG. There's free wifi if we need to show our client our latest Pinterest board, or for downloading a new "paperback" for our Kindle while we take it easy on the couch or deck chairs outside. For lunch we're digging into grass-fed beef burgers on hand-made brioche buns with Parmesan chips on the side. When we feel like watching what we eat, there's the amazing selection of salads and we choose the chicken salad on greens with a topping of crisp rice noodles and coconut dressing.
Friday afternoons call for a glass of chilled, crisp white chenin and a club sandwich while the volume of the music increases and we start getting in the mood for the weekend. Nights are about ramen and beer. Or yakitori and beer. Or steak frites and beer. And when we're beered out, it's about meeting up with friends to start with a perfectly constructed negroni followed by Asian tapas and a bottle of natural red wine from the Swartland. On Date Night it's about a candle-lit dinner in the courtyard under the dimmed fairy lights for sharing tuna tataki and a double helping of black sesame ice-cream washed down with ice-cold rose chosen from the cellar upstairs in Selva Portuguese Kitchen. Once we're on the wine train, we're heading upstairs to Ace+Pearl Fine Wine Bar for one last glass before our Uber ride home.
