Our day begins with a house-made granola, yoghurt and fruit bowl and cold pressed juice. If we're in the mood, it's a pancake and bacon stack with smoked cinnamon syrup. Poached eggs on sourdough toast with a side of cherry tomatoes and pan fried mushrooms are our go-to for business meetings, always with multiple flat whites or teas from TWG. Saturday mornings are for a lazy brunch and we take it easy on the couches or Fermob tables outside under the umbrellas. For lunch we're digging into grass-fed Wagyu beef burgers on hand-made brioche buns with Parmesan chips on the side. When we feel like watching what we eat, there's the amazing selection of salads and we choose the chicken salad on greens with a topping of crisp rice noodles and coconut dressing. To cheat with a salad we go for the sweet, succulent Ho Chi Minh hot beef and balance it out with a Coke Zero!
Friday afternoons call for a glass of chilled, crisp chenin and a club sandwich while the volume of the music increases and we start getting in the mood for the weekend. Nights are about ramen and beer. Or poke bowls and beer. Or steak frites and beer. And when we're beered out, it's about meeting up with friends to start with a perfectly constructed Negroni followed by Asian tapas and a bottle of natural red wine from the Swartland. On Date Night it's about a candle-lit dinner in the courtyard under the dimmed fairy lights for sharing tuna tataki and a double helping of burnt honey ice-cream washed down with ice-cold rose.
Once we're on the wine train, we're heading upstairs to Ace+Pearl Fine Wine Bar for one last glass before our Uber ride home.
